Important information for OneScotland card holders

Are you - or is someone you know; a parent, grandparent, family member or neighbour - using a OneScotland card for concessionary travel in Scotland?

Cards with the OneScotland logo will stop working after 31 December 2016.

Councils across Scotland are currently replacing the OneScotland cards which are used for concessionary travel by anyone aged 60 or over or anyone who has received a card on grounds of disability.

Although OneScotland cards may not be due to expire for several weeks, new cards are being sent to everyone well in advance of this and if you receive a new card you should start using it straightaway.

Your new style card will either have the saltirecard or the mygovscot logo on the front:

Both of the above card designs are valid for travel and will be accepted by bus operators now.

If you are already using a saltirecard or mygovscot card, then no action is required.

Please can you check with relatives and friends - who qualify for concessionary travel - that they have received a new style card and have started to use it.

It is important that when they receive their new card they also destroy their old bus passes to avoid confusion, even if it has not expired.

If they are still using a OneScotland card and haven’t received a new style card they need to act now.

The OneScotland cards won’t work on buses after 31st December 2016.  Anyone without a new card will have to pay a fare.

For advice on how to get a new card, cardholders should phone the number on the back of their card.
